The Guest Nest welcomes you - your home away from home!

Realise the privacy of having your own ‘home-away-from-home’. Our guest apartment offers you a comfortable stay in a secure, very upmarket environment. We are but a block away from the Bedford Gardens shopping centre, with easy access to Johannesburg International (O R Tambo) airport, other major shopping centres, some of South Africa’s top boarding and day schools, game reserves and Johannesburg’s best hospitals and doctors.

While you are here, take the time to visit some of Gauteng’s places of interest. The apartment’s positioning means quick access to many prime destinations. Do the Crocodile River ramble, Gold Reef City, the Apartheid Museum or the Photographic Museum. Take the Soweto tour and relax afterwards at SAB’s Brewery Museum or enjoy the Carousel casino. Shop at Rosebank’s amazing rooftop market, Bruma Lake market or the shopping centres around us. Take a gold mine tour and so much more of what makes Gauteng the hub of southern Africa.

The Guest Nest is a newly renovated enterprise of Nondu Baholo’s, started in July 2008, and it welcomes guests from all areas in and around South Africa or internationally, who need to be in Johannesburg for business or pleasure.

Aided and supported by her very capable staff, Nondu oversees the apartment to ensure that any needs are being met.

Our facilities
This immaculate apartment can comfortably sleep six people. It has a fully equipped, self-catering kitchen, three bedrooms, main en-suite, and a second bathroom. The main bedroom and second bedroom have double beds. The third bedroom has two twin beds. Relax in its lovely, refurbished dining room and sitting room. There are televisions (with DSTV) in the sitting room and the main bedroom and secure parking for two cars can be arranged.

The daily rate for the apartment is a highly competitive R950, all inclusive except catering and transport, which are for your account.

Transportation
Nondu is happy to arrange transportation for you, should this be required. Just give her a call. She will arrange transport to and from the airport also to any other Johannesburg destination. Please note that the cost of transport is not included and is for your account.

Executive accommodation
Book the apartment for your staff when they are in Johannesburg for business, on training or working contracts or projects. We are conveniently situated surrounded by business, retail and industrial areas in Germiston, Benoni, Boksburg, Jet Park, Edenvale, Kensington, Eastgate, Bedfordview and Johannesburg central. Sandton, Midrand and Pretoria are all easy drives away.

Book now, as a company for World Cup matches taking place at Ellis Park. Make a World Cup match there part of your teambuilding incentives or customer interaction programme. We are an easy drive away!

Tourism
There are so many places of interest that you can visit – they are what make Gauteng the hub of southern Africa: Do the Soweto tour, the Crocodile River ramble, Gold Reef City, a mine tour, the Photographic and Apartheid museums, SAB’s Brewery Museum or visit the amazing Rosebank rooftop market. Emperor’s Palace, Monte Casino and Carnival City are a short drive away and so are many wonderful game reserves – all easy to do in a day.

Medical tourism
Gauteng has some of the best hospitals and doctors on the continent and many patients travel not just from African countries but from all over the world to get treatment here. The apartment provides the ideal environment for families to have privacy and comfort while patients are undergoing treatment.

The Guest Nest is an easy drive from renowned hospitals, including the Bedford Gardens Clinic, Park Lane Clinic, Harvard Medical Centre, Donald Gordon Hospital, Linksfield Hospital, Johannesburg General Hospital, Morningside and Sandton Clinics, Sunninghill and Milpark Hospitals and the Sunward Park Clinic.

A sick family member places stress on the entire family. If you are coming to Johannesburg to assist or visit a patient, let us know and we will endeavour to assist in any way we can.

Schools
There are some of the best boarding schools in Africa situated around The Guest Nest. If your child is a boarder or is having tuition here, come and stay with us while visiting your children and enjoy having them ‘at home’ during breaks and over weekends.

Alternatively, shop at the wide variety of supermarkets and delicatessens in the area and prepare your own food in the apartment’s spotless kitchen. Please remember that food is not included in The Guest Nest’s daily rates.

Directions from O R Tambo Airport

  • As you drive out of Johannesburg International (O R Tambo) airport, take the R24 heading towards Johannesburg.
  • Continue along the motorway passing all off-ramps to Germiston and Edenvale, heading towards Johannesburg going straight over the Gilloolly’s interchange.
  • Take the Eastgate/Bedford Gardens off-ramp, keeping left. Follow the road to the Bedford Gardens shopping centre.
  • Go past the centre and turn right into Kirkby Road. The apartments are on the right just before a bend.
